Exactly. It is the most far-fetched hypothetical. That's the point. I'm doing a reductio ad absurdum. People say ethics are relative -- private. I say, okay, let's see what that means. Let's make it absolutely private (the real desert island/far-fetched case) where we discover (to our surprise?) that ethics becomes useless and the individual loses their humanity. You got it! We cannot be moral nor human all by ourselves.
