Hi Scott: That story was great. Could just picture the ducks! I was traveling on some rural roads early in the morning the other day out in the boonies. Was on a straightaway with farm fields on both sides. Could see something in the road ahead of me and saw it was a huge green turtle as I got closer. Thought it was a loggerhead at first. Looked behind me a ways back and there was a semi truck. Ahead of me a mile or so were cars coming. I knew the turtle wouldn't make it so I pulled the bubba truck up in the middle of the road blocking both lanes and stopped with my blinkers on. The semi pulled up behind me and stopped, and the cars in front came up and stopped as I was picking up this huge turtle and carrying him over to this irrigation pond on the side of the road and put him down. Then I got back in the bronco, waved at the trucker (he smiled, probably thought I was nuts), waved at the cars waiting in front, and drove off. I saved the turtle. Heck, he probably had a family! You know I love turtles and stop to move them out of the road. Yep, sure do. You don't have long before you leave. Don't forget your passport! RR
