I would argue that what the nazis did to the jews was wrong and evil, absolutely. Can I fully explain that judgment? I don't think so. Not fully. I'm not sure what a"full explanation" means, if you want to know the truth.
Nevertheless I feel confident in my assessment of the behavior of the nazis.

Forgive me if I sound like I'm teaching. I promise that I am in no way altogether wise. I'm just sharing with you what I was taught and have tried to understand.

You are dead right, there's not much proof of anything.

For a long time now we have been trying to figure out what we can know with certainty that is not at the same time trivial. A Priori we know that tomorrow is tuesday or it's not. No denying that. but it tells us nothing of any consequence whatsoever, despite the absolute truth the statement conveys.

Proof of anything more interesting seems to elude us, other than Descartes's realization that his own existence can't be denied, as we therefore cannot deny our own, on pain of contradiction and other severe weirdness.

So is there a point in nevertheless believing in and pursuing knowledge of the absolute -- about ethics or anything else for that matter?

I think so. I think we can't help it? I think that this f__ks us sometimes when we refuse to let go of our mistakes?

but we keep trying because of the kind of creature we are. We can only have faith that it's worth it?

And on that note I'm obviously whacked and need sleep.
