If you think your opinions are iffy, and your cause is doubtful, I don't see that as launching a great war. It usually take the pompous arrogance of "God is on OUR side..." to do that. Well, I'd have to add one more criterion which I think is important in the minds of most leaders about to launch a war... "Are we likely to win?" And the more iffy their opinion of their own rightness and the justice of their cause, the more likely that criterion is to dominate <g>
