Thanx SirRealist.

They hate terrorism. After 20 odd years of it, I'd think they would. But I doubt if India could fall completely in line as did Pakistan. They might be more comfortable with providing all basic help they could, like refuelling facilities etc but committing army or air force or letting US build an army base for the ground operations...? I dunno...a symbolic gesture, maybe, but anything beyond that, well, its just not the kind of nation....

US Indian relationships have never been smooth. US usually prefers to buy its friendship in Asia and ME, looking for countries hungry enough for aid and protection. Well, India is a hungry and unprotected country for sure, but having lived without an umbrella for so long, and survived, a leaning towards right or left now, though still possible, is highly improbable. Nothing comes free. And IMO, if you get something for free, that simply means you haven't got a bill for it yet. And I guess they know it too....

Though God knows, it could do with a huge infusion of funds.....hell, even *I* could do with some <g>
