Ashley Laurent Announces Partnership with Network Security Chipmaker Hifn Ashley Laurent Embedded Software to Support Hifn Encryption Chips AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2001--Ashley Laurent, a global market leader in embedded broadband service solutions for integrated chip vendors and broadband device manufacturers, announces a partnership with Hifn(tm) (Nasdaq:HIFN - news), the market leader in network security processors and flow classification products.
Through this partnership, Ashley Laurent's BroadWay(tm) Integrated Service Software (ISS) will be optimized to work with Hifn's encryption processors.
BroadWay ISS provides a number of value-added services that are embedded into the IAD (Internet Access Device) at the chip level. They include managed firewall, family friendly or business productivity content filtering, managed VPN, and others. These embedded services can lie dormant until they are activated by the end user, thus delivering a recurring revenue stream for the service provider.
``Ashley Laurent has partnered with some of the most prestigious companies in the embedded DSL and cable modem space, and we are pleased that they have chosen to support our market leading security ICs'' says Doug Makishima, Hifn vice president of marketing. ``Hifn's cost effective security processors deliver superior value by off-loading the security functions from the CPU while requiring a minimum of board space.''
``Hifn is a recognized leader in encryption and compression hardware acceleration, and Ashley Laurent is pleased to add this as standard support for our BroadWay product family,'' says Jeff Goodwin, Chairman and CEO of Ashley Laurent. ``Ashley Laurent's customers will benefit with a reduced time to market when they select Hifn security processors and our software.''
