JLA,

The area around Hobby has become a part of the slums of the city. As the city grew too fast, and too far, with too many people, all those that had any sense moved farther out. Most of them are still in Houston, but far from the blight. For a visitor, the difficulty is finding the good areas. They are there, but are fairly well concealed, for good reason. One of the sub-divisions that I lived in during high school, was a very nice area, was almost out of the city limits, but is now a barrio full of drug pushers. That is the major problem with urban sprawl.
