Excellent post and I believe your feelings are shared by many. Americans I believe would have remained more placid if September 11 had been a one-time event, but now that this is continuing the furious anger is beginning to build...

The terrorists and their sponsors obviously spent too much time reading the Koran and bombing manuals instead of an occasional glance at a history book. The Germans and Japanese once made the same mistake. You see, when terrorists and outlaw states run by dictators threaten and attack, they can always make an about-face and terminate hostilities quickly, but when a democracy such as ours is forced into a war, turning back before complete victory is not going to happen.
