I really liked that comment on the other thread. I've also thought about the fact that sand is turned to glass by high temperature. What about aerial blasts from nuclear weapons turning the entire area into a sheet of glass. Use a squeegee to wipe the oil off when finished.

Puff is an incredible piece of machinery that I was able to watch in action once. To say it is audible is like saying the twin towers were somewhat tall. It seems to me if you were on the receiving end of this bad boy just hearing it over the hill from you would send you into pants pissing seizure.
