It is possible that he didn't have the backing to shut down the terrorists within Pakistan, and hold onto his job. Evidence? Since the US has allied itself with Pakistan, military generals connected to the terrorists have been fired. If Gen. Pervez Musharraf's government is strengthened, and if the US stays active, perhaps there can be true peace between India and Pakistan. Possible? Impossible? Too hopeful? Naive?
