Here in NC, you really dont need a lawyer...traffic courts are so backed up...just show up for court date, wait your turn, and 9 out of 10 times they will knock it down......I tried some smooth talking trying to get my wifes completly thrown out.....she was looking at losing her license going that high over speed limit....when they knocked it down to 49 in a 45 and i still bitched wanting it thrown out, the District Attorney looked at me and laughed and said " you have two choices....take the 49 in a 45, go pay your fine, or feel free to decline and we'll take your wifes license"....needless to say, my wife grabbed my arm before I could respond, said "thank you", and dragged me the hellout of there......
when she got the ticket, two or three days later the mailbox was bombarded by letters from lawyers. First of all, I have my own lawyer(s), so why the hell would I take some guy that sends me a letter in the mail <ggg>,......secondly, I knew here in NC you could do just as good as any lawyer as they regularly knock down speeding tickets because the traffic schools and etc, are so crowded.......no lawyer needed here.....at least not yet.....I may not be so lucky in my 550hp firebird <ggg> |
