Surely Ariel Sharon will start using terminology currently in vogue by American cabinet officials as he prepares to launch his forces thus neutralizing American opposition

No doubt at all. In fact I heard him yesterday, before the assassination, comparing their hunt of terrorists to the US effort.

What would George Bush do if Condolezza Rice was shot in the head?

If he had not launched the current operations, he would have. And if already started, certainly avoid negotiations and just keep on 'proscecuting' them militarily. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Maybe have dozens of terrorists around the world knocked off, rapidly, by covert ops - "don't f' with us ever again"?

Does that work, with terrorists? I guess it does if you get them all. It might work with some remaining. I don't think it works at all with fanatics that actually look forward to dying and that's the big dilemma it seems.
