James,
I heard the Leno joke. It was especially funny when he started it with saying that the terrorists under Bin Laden were gambling in Vegas, smoking cigars, messing with the girls of the night, and drinking whiskey. Even though we do not agree with the precepts of Islam, you must admit that these people are making a mockery of their own, supposed, religion, which is totally against these kinds of actions. But, I fear that more, and more, Muslim factions will, in the near future, join the attempt to make Islam the only religion. To do so, by force, must be prevented.
It is true that you and I have differed in some of our concepts, and in the discussions, things got out of hand. In some cases, the written word of each of us were misinterpreted, but in the heat of our feelings, we either didn't, or didn't want to acknowledge that fact. In the light of what happened on 9/11, and is going on now, any differences we may have had, are too petty to be continued. I am for unity of all Christians in spite of some diversity of thought. The primary thought that all of us should have, IMO, is that there is a God in Heaven that is in control, and that He sent Himself in human form as Jesus Christ to offer us a chance to redeem ourselves, and obtain salvation, in the midst of the sad situation of the human condition.
