"The access technology now exists for open networking systems that enable the seamless connection of copper to fiber, wireless and other technologies," stated Cullens. "The new Westell will be focused on delivering leading broadband access solutions that will enhance the capabilities, and prolong the economic life of the 200 million copper access lines that comprise access networks in the U.S. market. Beyond that is an enormous global opportunity, and we are intent on being properly positioned to play a significant role in that opportunity when the dynamics are right."
God willing, we will be able to put the recent events behind us sooner than later. Assuming we achieve a reasonable level of success in bring stability back to the global scene, then America will once again be seen as the single most stable and capable country, and the greatest single source of world security. This perception and accompanying good will, should spill over to a whole new level of renewed trade with America through out the world. So in terms of Mr. Van Cullen's vision, stated above, for Westell's opportunity for global growth, I think this opportunity still exists, if Westell can continue to develop access solutions. I have been quiet recently, because at this point what really matters is what Westell has to say. I hope the recent positive activity in the stock is a sign of good things. In the meantime let the short squeeze games continue. This Anthrax thing is such a pain, but thankfully we seem to have the ability to deal with it. |
