Vicuna Pre-Season Planning VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(TNK - TSE) Tenke Mining Corp. (the ``Company'') is pleased to announce that planning is underway for the 2001/2002 exploration season at the Company's Vicuna Copper/Gold/Silver project in Argentina/Chile. The project encompasses over 26,400 hectares and is located between two prolific mineralized belt systems, El Indio and Maricunga. These two belts straddling the Argentina/Chile border host numerous large copper, gold and silver deposits including the Pascua/Veladero gold deposits (30+ million ounces). Tenke is seeking a partner for the project and is in discussions with several senior mining companies who have expressed an interest. Site visits are scheduled over the next few weeks. A bulldozer has been mobilized to open up access roads to the project. Drilling to date on the project, including previous drilling by Cyprus-Amax, totals 40 holes in 6,505 metres. The data indicates four key areas with potential for commercial copper mineralization within the Filo del Sol target area, and at least one exploration target for copper/silver mineralization at Gemelos to the north.
