You made a blanket statement about rights and the responsible (or accountable) execution thereof.

<Those you refer to as "we" -- I don't in fact know whether you personally are included in the group -- certainly have their right. And can and should use it.

a) preferably using it responsibly, but there's no law requiring that.

b) however, being accountable for the use of the right, and not complaing when someone else uses their rights to object to the way you use the right.
