Alexa did make one good point on cbc radio this morning - it is a mistake to use the term 'war' ... terrorism is crime, crime on a grand scale at times but still crime .... to call it otherwise is to give it a legitimacy, a dignity, that it cannot merit ..... yeah, she's honest, but i think it takes more than that ... if you know what i mean

Actually he did, in terms more florid than that, and so did Castañeda, however Cárdenas and Creel chose to go the Little México route, and Fuentes too - #reply-16468231 .... this is deep in national psyche - in all the history since it's been called México [1820s], all but one of the country-to-country military actions in which it's been involved have been invasions from the USA [exception - WWII] ..... so the military is prohibited under the constitution from leaving the national boundaries, principle being 'Let's not start up with anybody' .... this would be a good time to amend that principle imho, there were mexicanos murdered at the WTC just like there were canadians .... but it is very deep ... and not surprisingly - to the paisano, the occupation of the northern half of the nation is the base of all current foreign affairs
So far, outside of unfortunate aiming in a few cases, i have no criticism of the US military in this yet ... they've been handed on a platter the right to act, forced to act ... of course we cannot know all detail yet, or perhaps ever ... and the potential for them screwing up abounds on all sides ... interesting times indeed |
