The phrase in what you quoted was "the right" not "all their rights" or even "their rights." We were talking about a specific right.

That said, I do think you are accountable for the exercise of certain other rights. I won't say all here, though I would be hard pressed to think of any I would exclude.

As to being accountable for voting, well, there has been a lot said here recently about how the Germans voted in the Nazis. The thrust of that seemed to be that the German people should be held accountable, at least in part, for the Nazi philosophy since they supported it with their votes (not a majority, but a significant plurality).

Or do you believe that it is wrong to hold the Germans "accountable" for having voted in the Nazis, and say that their exercise of their votes should be looked out without any sense of accountability?

If the people of this country were to elect, say, Pat Robertson President, don't you think the people should be held accountable for the policies he might succeed in implementingt?
