Blair calls for restraint after assassination

Well, it's a fine line to draw, but political leadership are traditionally considered "military targets", so I can't compare this assassination to targeting 50,000 civilians in a sky-scraper.

That said, I hardly believe, that in his position as Minister of Tourism, he was in any way planning to attack Palestinians, or in control over military operations (I might be wrong in this perception..)..

Thus, I believe the Israelis have been targeting the right individuals, military and political leaders possessing control over attacks upon Israelis.

Either way... it was merely a matter of time before Palestinians starting targeting Israeli leadership. That's the problem with political decapitation operations. They generate reciprocal attacks.
