I'd love to know how much radiation would be required to cleanse all these containers (which by the way are all made out of heavy steel!) in an expedient manner.

Either you construct a large conveyor belt and route all containers through it or you irradiate a large area.

The cure will undoubtedly be worse than the problem.

This is not going to happen.

I did not say it would happen; I said that it should happen. Unfortunately, politics and business interfere with national security, as we have seen now at our nation's airports. I bet very few Americans prior to Sept. 11 realized that security at airports, nuclear reactors and, most shocking of all, even Department of Energy facilities which store hundreds of tons of weapons-grade, highly enriched Uranium-238 and plutonium is provided by independent contractors, and not official police forces or the military. (I must state that I find this simply incredible.)

The problem is potentially an entire container filled with toxic biological weapons of mass destruction being introduced into a major port city such as New York or Los Angeles and killing thousands.

I would like to ask you a personal question: do you truly believe that after watching the Twin Towers collapse, which, had they not been constructed with genius with multiple redundant supports, would have occurred immediately instead of an hour later, likely killing 100-200,000 people instead of 5,000, that the time and cost is not worth it? If you do, then you are in serious denial.
