ST trading: IMO, odds are good of being able to buy AMAT at <30 sometime in the near future. We are going to see a steady drumbeat of semis lowering the bar for 4Q, (sales lower yet, margins lower) with continuing zero visibility beyond that. I'm glad I lightened up on AMAT at 35, TXN at 29, NTAP at 13, and got completely off margin. Merrill Lynch now says the recovery will be 3Q02, not 2Q02. The recovery always seems to be 2 quarters out, and that is not going to change this earnings season.
