He referred to decades of inaction of UN Security Council with respect to crisis-stricken regions in the world, especially Middle East, as a clear sign of inefficiency of the Security Council. He added, "Though UN Security Council has been asked many times to end the occupation and atrocities of the racist regime of Israel, use of veto right or the threat to use it has prevented the Security Council from fulfilling its duty on various occasions." Pointing to the continuation of Israeli occupation, he said that the use of veto right last March didn't help the Middle East crisis. He added, "The presence of international monitoring forces in the region could definitely prevent the death of many people." He also said that the Security Council paid attention to the situation in Afghanistan by passing a resolution, and focused on the issue of Taliban militia granting asylum to international terrorists. He further hoped that the UN Security Council would consider different aspects of Afghanistan crisis and declared Iran's readiness to support different UN organizations to establish peace and security as well as to create a stable government in Afghanistan.
