Kmeister and Malcolm,

Remember, RR and George I didn't inherit a vacuum. A careful study of history would take both of you back through the years to the misguided goodness of Carter/Church and downright misguidedness of Nixon/Vietnam, then back further to the truly worst Prez of the 20th century, Lyndon-I don't want to get blamed for losing a country to the commies like Truman took the hit for China, even if it does cost 48,000 US soldiers on my watch-Baines Johnson, and then back to the cooked election of 1960, which made JFK the feckless fool he was and turned Nixon even more toward the dark side, but that is old history.

Like many here I'm glad Powell and Bush are fighting the good fight in terms of language and diplomacy, since the propaganda war is an important front, but not that it will convince many of the benighted; like others I hope it won't get in the way of actually doing what needs to be done. The JAG lawyer who kept them from killing the Taliban commmander is just one example of things we need to straighten out before we can get down to brass tacks on this one. JAG lawyer? JAG-off sounds more appropriate.
