>>You are aware, I hope, that the Nazis were an elected political power in Germany. While Hitler tried to take Germany in an unsuccessful coup, he had to wait until the Nazis gained political power after the great depression in Europe, and he was appointed chancellor- so yes, the Nazis and Hitler did have the assent of the people.
Did the Japanese want war? From all historical records it appears they did, and that they supported their emperor (who was not an interloper like the Taliban).

The Mexican war is such a sad blemish on our country I don't really even want to go into that.

None of these wars is akin to what we are doing to Afghanistan. It really isn't even a war. It is a pummeling of a little stone age country, because some bad men took control of it. And why did these men take control? Well....I think you can look at the USSR and the US and see why. So we set up the dominoes, we let them fall in a careless manner, and then we go in and bomb the populace because we don't like it. If that is the kind of country you want, fine. It just doesn't happen to be the kind I want. I am not for this. I am an American, but I disagree with what we are doing. I think I can still be against terrorism and say that. I believe we have taken the wrong path. <<
