As I look at the news today I realise this conflict is already out of hand. It's as if everything is being revealed. The shaky nature of alliances eg. Saudi Arabia. Anthrax probably having a Russian source (powder) not Iraqui (liquid). Problems in the usual spot - an Israeli minister assinated. India likely to attack Pakistan. The northern alliance being supported in spite of Pakistan's objections. The first stirrings of oppostion to Blair, not from the Tories, but from his own back benches, yet Blair has a 88% approval rate in the polls, still a seductive number for him. His tack on the increasing humanitarian disaster in Afghanistan is that it's all the Talibans fault.
I guess this is going to be the party line from now on? They're starving not because of the bombing scaring them out of house and home, but because the Taliban won't let them get the food parcels. A war for the gullible?
