was born to pretty meager circumstances. Ditto. Though in relation to third world life, I'm sure I had little to complain about. If not for govt financial aid to help finance post secondary education at a public university, I'm sure I would not have paid as much in taxes as I have. Hence my whole hearted support for helping others climb that ladder and my support for education, both as a means for individuals and society as a whole to achieve greater prosperity. In my case, the govt earned 10x it's investment in my education in the form of payroll taxes.
