Siemens, Motorola put mobile j/v talks on hold 10:28 Wednesday October 17, 2001, WSJ.com Siemens and Motorola have ceased their talks about creating joint ventures of their mobile phone businesses for now, the Wall Street Journal reported. Lothar Pauly, chief operating officer of the Siemens mobile unit, is said to have announce the delay on a meeting on October 15. According to the newspaper, Pauly told employees that Siemens had held more serious talks with Motorola earlier, but that Siemens was in general talks with a number of potential partners. Both companies refused to comment on the report.
