rambus die? You'd have to wait a long time. They have a $10M cushion from intel / qtr for 5 yrs. So even if everything else goes away, they should still survive. Even if all the drdram PC sales went to zero, and psx3 moves to other memories, and even if network ic designers gave up trying to find ways to work around the higher latency to drdram and satisfy the need to respond to arriving packets within us timings and switch to other memories, they still will have 10M revenue quarters for a while. This is a company that has a safety net that will keep them alive as everything around them collapses. Rambus Die? Not likely. But it will be kind of painful, and the progression will be very obvious to all who want to watch it happen. They may rise again from the ashes and build something real next time. SbH
