I knew David Dreier, the chrm. of the Rules Comm., would purge the internet gambling portion from the anti-terrorist bill. He has always protected the ISP's. And the bankers didn't want this bill either so they pulled the strings of other Republican leaders. Last year Dick Armey was an opponent of internet gaming; this year he's on our side.

At any rate, I can say with certainty that the battle has been won in the U.S. Congress.

And still not a peep out of the Bush White House. I sent a letter to Bush's political advisor, Carl Rove, last week telling him to make sure the White House remain noncommittal. But with the anthrax scare, I would be surprised if the letter was ever opened.
