Hello JA,

Abalone is tough too. When we clean em, we pound the meat to tenderize it. If it is done correctly, it comes out real tender.

A buddy of mine cooked some up last weekend. He said that he had tenderized it, but it was obvious he didn't...or didn't do it correctly. It was like rubber. Luckily we discovered that before he had cooked it all. So, we beat it up, and it was fine. <g>

Taste??? .......uh......hard to describe. I've never had conch, but I have heard abalone compared to conch.

:0)
