VANCOUVER, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - Capital Alliance Group Inc. and its subsidiary
- CIBT Canadian Institute of Business and Technology Corporation ("CIBT") -
announces that CIBT has entered into a licensing and revenue sharing agreement
with Intel Internet Technology (Shanghai) Ltd. ("Intel") to offer Intel's E-
Business Solution Training program at the CIBT campus in Beijing, China.
Under the agreement, CIBT will provide marketing, student recruitment and
a course delivery venue, while Intel will provide course materials,
instructors and certificates of completion. Targeted at corporations,
entrepreneurs and individuals throughout the Chinese information technology
sector, the E-Business Solution coursework ranges from e-business planning and
strategy to web server performance and XML design and processing. Intel
expects to add courses at a later date to complement the eight core courses
that currently comprise the program.
"To be selected by Intel as the first school to offer their e-commerce
program in Mainland China is a testament to the quality of our reputation and
marketing channels within China, particularly in the corporate and executive
training market," said CIBT president Charles Chen. "The newest technology and
training expertise which accompanies this program provides companies in China
with the foundation required to make the transformation from a traditional to
an e-commerce business. With China's full WTO membership expected next month,
combined with the Chinese government's open attitude towards the advent of e-
commerce, we believe CIBT is well positioned to play a significant role in the
burgeoning market for e-commerce training."
Along with this announcement, CIBT released September 2001 enrollment
figures that show increasing enrollments of 8% in the MBA program and 46% in
the "2 + 2" transferable degree program over the same period in 2000.
