It could be done ... we're a clever enough parasite species to be able to develop some method of tapping that immense and eternal energy flowing under the bridge there, while leaving open access to shipping and marine species ... another way is by exploiting the difference in sea-level temperatures - there is a warm level on top, much cooler water below, the oceans being solar energy collectors on a vast scale .... various engines have been attempted to harness this kinetic energy, some day somewhere somebody's gonna make it economic ... use hydrogen as your 'battery' through electrolysis on the spot, find a way to safely store the H in your Harley tank, and vrooom off ya go, pocketa pocketa, flowers joyously licking up your exhaust fumes

Little electronic devices that control and regulate processes within power systems of this sort, could be big business? ..... and tankage systems - how to get a lot of H safely into a compact space ... there was talk of carbon nano-fibre a while ago, dunno what's up with that

Remember that saudi minister of their foreign office or something, said 'the stone age didn't end for lack of stones, the oil age won't end for lack of oil' ... i wonder if he'll turn out right on that ... maybe he could be hit on for venture capital in aid of the hydrogen age -g-
