Gartner reports Q3 Total PC sales:

Shipments declined 13.7 percent over the third quarter of 2000. In raw numbers it was a drop from nearly 34 million units in Q3 2000 to about 29 million in Q3 2001.

AMD sold 7.7 million out of 29 million total. Figure 3 million for SMP and upgrades (generous, I think) gives 32 million CPUs into PCs.

That puts AMD at 24% of the market and Intel at 76% - AMD picked up another 2 points of market share last quarter (from 22% to 24%)
