Thanks for the update on wind. My info is somewhat fragmented, but I have seen a design for a unit that can produce up to 15 kw at a total capital cost of about $9,000. It must be connected to the grid and/or have some load at all times, including possibly a large water heater. It produces power with winds as low as 5 knots and automatically shuts down if the wind is greater than 40 knots. The loading of the generator is software controlled. Art
