On the topic of wind power...

Here in Houston for the past several months I have seen convoys of trucks transporting what I imagine are blades for wind turbines. These are about 60-80 ft in length, maybe 6-8 feet at the widest point. They usually run 4-6 trucks together, with the required escort vehicles, always going west. It seems like I see them 2-3 times a week.

Are these indeed what they appear to be? Where are they coming from and going?
