Some thoughts on the problem for us with the Muslim World
These Terrorists, like the people who ran the concentration camps, really believe they are moral, and are fighting evil. We represent the secular world, that is tearing down their society with our music, dance, and open sex. We are the "Evil Ones", not them, by their standards.
What are the three major complaints about the U.S. by our Muslim "Friends"?
1) We are supporting the corrupt Dictators and Kings who rule them, and stopping Democracy, even while we preach it.
2) We helped introduce, and are supporting, the Jewish State in Palestine, that would have never have existed without us.
3) All we are interested in is "Cheap Oil", and we don't give a damn about the people there.
We can all list the arguments on the our side, but when you look at these positions from their side, and realize that they are never going to believe otherwise, it becomes apparent that we are in a never ending battle here.
I am afraid we are going to end up "all hat and no cattle" in this battle. To start with, Washington is glossing over the fact that almost all of these terrorists are running around on Saudi passports. And we are telling all that Saudi Arabia is on our side! Ben Ladin's background, family, and financing are all out of Saudi Arabia.
We may get damn lucky and get Ben Ladin. But I would not count on it, and I would not count on much further success. |
