Meryl Streep was on TV during the Alar scare years ago. She got me so alarmed, I actually sent in money. I mean, Meryl Streep. She wouldn't lie to me.

And then I read that the poor apple growers were going bankrupt and they were so pitiful on TV saying their apples were safe, that I rushed out, consumed by guilt, and bought tons of apples.

Somehow my children survived my mothering techniques.
