The mobile telephone equipment maker said it lost 8 cents a share vs. a loss of 18 cents in the year-ago period. Analysts projected a loss of 6 cents. The company blamed "the global economic recession" that has delayed tech spending in the wireless communications market. Revenue from sales was $64.7 million, with revenue from Europe increasing to 36% from 12% of the total, compared to the same period last year. Revenue from North America fell to $40.3 from $83.3 million in the year-ago period. Sales to Asia-based customers were $1.1 million vs. $14.9 million in the third quarter of 2000.
