From a propaganda viewpoint, I don't have a problem with CNN asking bin Laden questions or broadcasting his footage. To Western viewers, most of the footage proves what a horribly dangerous vile creep he is and thus backfires in his face. Frankly, I can't understand why he even provides material for Western journalists. If he's sending secret signals that's another matter, so I'll defer to the authorities on this.

Furthermore, maybe something in bin Laden's video will help us catch him. When the Unabomber was on the loose, some argued against publishing his material. However the FBI requested that it be published and that is how his 17-year reign of terror was finally ended.
