Rock expert recognises bin Laden's cave A geologist says he knows where Osama bin Laden is hiding because of rocks behind him in his recent propaganda video. John Ford Shroder spent years in Afghanistan and says that particular type of rock could only be seen in one region. He has contacted the US government and told them the video must have been filmed in either Paktia or Paktika province in the south east near Pakistan. The University of Nebraska academic recognised the rock strata as soon as he saw the film, he said: "I turned to my wife and told her 'I know where he is'." He says the region is dotted with caves and controlled by the Pashtuns - an ethnic group loyal to the Taliban. The Times reports that other geologists have confirmed his view and the information is now said to be in the hands of special forces inside Afghanistan. ananova.com
