It has to be seen yet. It depends on what kind of
motivation we are talking about, and we are talking
about motivation through stock options. The stock
value is highly subjective entity, and strongly depends
upon impression the company makes on shareholders,
including false impressions via "creative" accounting,
unsound buggy products, and premature launches of thereof.
Now, if the whole team is motivated to produce those
false impressions, I am not sure how good it is in
general, and maybe one "stock motivated" CEO is better
than a bunch falsely-motivated managers and engineers.

Just a point of view, of course. :-)
