Thanks Lee... I recall reading something about Vietnam's entry into the coffee markets.

But it tends to reinforce my belief that marginal producers will be forced out of the market and coffee crops left unharvested in Brazil. Irrational market tend to overcorrect and I was just playing a hunch that this might the case here. After all, the markets have taken into account the new Vietnamese supply.

Maybe Starbucks might be a better play here given the decrease in their commodity costs (and likelihood that that they have entered into long-term contracts for coffee at these prices, and have (along with other coffee buyers) sopped up the available supply.

I'm sure they have been thinking the same thing I have. Btw, SBUX is showing it has already bottomed out at $14 on the monthly chart and is poised for a multi-month rally.
