You are correct, that end-users don't care about how costs are divided amongst components, and the extra cost of an XP license isn't a big problem. But buying XP means that "you will have to pay something again after 2 years". This is not good. But if Microsoft succeeds in getting XP well deployed and getting people hooked up on Passport, money will come in. Lars.
