If there is no basis for correcting or improving moral opinions, so that they conform to truth better, then there is no basis for moral discourse, and therefore, we are left to merely shout one another down, or fight Do you think that without God there is no basis for learning?! Some of your ideas are really off the wall, Neo. <g> Do you think that the disciplines of our universities, and the experiential knowledge that leads us to wisdom, are not a basis for rational discussion experimentation, and work toward the betterment of human kind? Can there be no space without an end to space? Can there be no time without an end to time? Can there be no continuum of knowledge without an ultimate knowledge? Can there be no improvement in moral opinion without the existence of a moral opinion which no longer cares for circumstance or feedback? What world are you in? Do you think every single university student studing the philosophy of ethics needs to believe in God if he/she is to hope to receive any ethical instruction? Some of your ideas send chills down my feet.
