Terje -

I'm surprised regarding your comments about Windows NT. Most of the reviews I have seen describe it as a very stable operating system. It does have it's well known limitations - limited support of hardware peripherals and less than "satisfactory" support of DOS programs.

Could you describe your NT system (Hardware & peripherals) and what programs tend to crash? I'd be interested to hear.

Regarding your comment:

"The PC is way behind because
multi processor systems available cost too much,
and have problems."

The PC was never designed as a multiprocessor system in the first place, and performance improvements have been adequately addressed, up till now, with improved clock speed and peripherals.

By the way, do you recall the price tag of that SGI machine that you described? Please let me know if you remember. I'll bet it was well in to five figures.
