Professor finds Itanium executes 64 bit code poorly.

Let me get this straight. It executes 32 bit code at pre-MMX Pentium levels, and it executes some 64 bit code slowly. And they don't expect to be able to fix the problem for 2 to 3 generations. Remind me again why they even bothered?
