Hiya Warp,
I really don't see that many tech companies who are expected to do as well over the short term as GNSS. If I felt compelled to buy into a "tech" company I would probably look at software companies like SYMC, SEBL, and a few others. I bet there are a number of software companies that have been caught in the tech selloff that have expanding revenues as well as a strong customer base but that are weak only on due to the economic uncertainty.

Unfortunately, I haven't had a ton of time to be looking at new stocks, as the 'old' ones I follow have been taking up too much time as it is. I have tried very hard to keep up with the semi sector and I would say that TER should be looked at after this recent fall. I think they will do well once the sector turns, the key issue is WHEN! For small cap semis, I think there is some potential for EMKR, KOPN, AXTI, AFCO and ASYS but once again, they will need the sector to turn to justify a substantial investment.

Another company that might be ripe for investment is SFA, Scientific Atlanta. If you are looking for more of the long term 'gamble' type plays, then the fiber optics are worth a peek but they are going to be like picking horses at the breeders cup. Lots of good companies on paper but only 3 'winners' out of 14 starters will make their shareholders a nice return from here. I have small lots of a number of telecom/optical companies that I have 'written off' due to market conditions. It's possible they could all be worthless but I have decided to put some gambling funds on CORV, AVNX, AVCI, NUF0.

I really like PTEN in the oil sector. 2nd largest domestic driller with some 300 rigs looking for NG and Oil. Of course in the short term, it depends on your view of commodity prices whether or not buying in here is timely or whether one should wait until Feb/Mar 02.

My favorite for a while was QLGC but the stock has soared so fast that I simply can't recommend it at this time.
