Yes, there are Taliban moderates and the US has been floating the idea that they may be represented in the next Afghani government. Personally, I think the term "Taliban moderate" is an oxymoron (and if I said it twice for Karen's benefit, they would be oxymora) and I'd be against the idea, if I were of the mindset that installing puppet governments would lend any semblance of stability to the area. Encourage the Northern Alliance to govern? Yes. "Install" a government? I'm leery. By the way, Laz, do you think the posters on this thread find it difficult to listen to, and engage with, a person whose viewpoint differs from their own?
