You're obviously right, Ron, that if Clarify's earnings grow at 35% annually an investor will do very well over the long haul to buy the stock at fairly valued prices. If buying a high-growth company at fair value is an investor's method, Clarify and others in the front office software business currently meet that criterion.

Given the uncertainty of the accuracy of the earnings estimates with any stock, I prefer to buy high-growth companies when I think they are cheap. I feel that protects my downside risk. Right now, I believe Software Artistry is the only front office stock that meets that criterion.

Unfortunately, my crystal ball is not so finely polished that I know with certainty how any of these stocks will do in the coming years.
