Saw a story in the on-line Post-Dispatch recently quoting a college prof as saying the Carnahan name in Missouri has almost become mythical. I think the sympathy factor is still in play for Jean Carnahan. Bush got what ... more than 100,000 votes than Talent did last November? Best candidate GOP probably could have fielded is Rep. Emerson, and she declined to take on Mrs. Carnahan.
